Thornal was Appointed as President of Global Business and Americas at Zimmer Biomet
Medical Device Business Review Orthopedic giant officially announced major personnel changes On May 27, 2025, Zimmer Biomet, one of the three giants in orthopedics, announced the appointment of Kevin Thornal as President of Global Business and Americas Group, which will take effect on July.
Thornal's responsibilities include overseeing the commercial organization in the Americas region. He will also lead the business strategy and execution of the global knee, hip, SET and data, technology and enabling solutions departments. Thornal is an experienced leader.
Thornal served as president and CEO of spinal cord stimulation company Nevro from April 2023 until the company was acquired by Globus Medical for approximately US$250 million last month. Prior to this, he served as president of Hologic's global diagnostic solutions group and held a series of leadership positions at the company since 2014.
Prior to joining Hologic, Thornal spent 10 years at Stryker in sales, marketing and business development, including as head of North American sales for its interventional spine business. "I look forward to working with this talented team, contributing to Zimmer Biomet's culture of collaboration and innovation, and delivering meaningful outcomes for patients and customers around the world.
" Zimmer Biomet CEO Thornal's appointment will see Mark Bezjak continue to serve as president of the Americas, but no longer as an executive officer, according to the filing. Bezjak was promoted from president of North America to president of the Americas in September 2023, the same month that Ivan Tornos became CEO of Zimmer Biomet.
