Tips For Identifying Titanium Rods

Oct 03, 2024

1. The surface of inferior titanium rods often has a pockmarked surface.

The pockmarked surface is the irregular unevenness of the titanium surface caused by severe wear of the rolling groove. Because the inferior titanium rod manufacturers want to make profits, they often roll the groove and overspend.

2. The inferior titanium rods are easily scratched because the inferior titanium rod manufacturers have simple equipment, which is prone to burrs and scratches the surface of the titanium material. Deep scratches reduce the strength of the titanium material.

3. The transverse ribs of the inferior titanium rods are thin and low, and often appear to be incomplete. The reason is that in order to achieve a large negative tolerance, the manufacturer presses down the first few passes of the product too much, the iron type is too small, and the hole type is not full.

4. The inferior titanium rods are prone to folding.

Folding is a variety of fold lines formed on the surface of the titanium rod. This defect often runs through the entire longitudinal direction of the product. The reason for the folding is that the inferior manufacturers seek the highest rate, the amount of reduction is too large, and the ears are generated. The folding will occur during the next rolling. The folded product will crack after bending, and the strength of the titanium material will be greatly reduced.

5. The surface of the inferior titanium rod is prone to scarring.

There are two reasons: (1) The raw materials of the inferior titanium rod are uneven and have many impurities. (2) The guide equipment of the inferior material manufacturer is simple and easy to stick to titanium. These impurities bite the rollers and easily cause scarring.

6. The surface of the inferior material is prone to cracking. The reason is that its blank is adobe, which has many pores. The adobe is cracked during the cooling process due to the effect of thermal stress. After rolling, there are cracks.

7. The inferior titanium rod has no metallic luster and is light red or similar to pig iron. There are two reasons: 1. Its blank is adobe. The rolling temperature of inferior materials is not standardized. Their titanium temperature is visually measured, so it is impossible to roll according to the regular austenite area, and the performance of titanium materials is naturally unqualified.

8. The cross-section of inferior titanium bars is elliptical. The reason is that in order to save materials, the manufacturer's first two passes of rolling are too large. The strength of this threaded titanium is greatly reduced, and it does not meet the specifications of the threaded titanium dimensions.
